Eurovision 2021 starts today with rehearsals
As you might know, Eurovision song contest is the biggest tv show where the european artists compete, they participate their countries. Altough it was cancelled last year due to Covid19 pandemic, the 65th edition of the contest will be held in Rotterdam, Netherlands again, as the latest winner hosts the contest. Duncan Laurence won in 2019 for Netherlands.
Each year, participating countries compete in two semi final groups and grand final defines the new winner and the next host country. The voting is made by 50% of public SMS votes and 50% of jury voting. This year, 39 countries will compete. Australia will not be in the Rotterdam Ahoy Arena because of the the decision made by government by reason of global pandemic, but their artist Montaigne has already recorded a live-on-tape which was obligated for all of the candidates as anything could happen like the contest was cancelled last year.
Therefore, before the semi finals start, the contest already launches with the first rehearsals. We will be reviewing the staging, performances and preparations.
Lithuania, Slovenia, Russia, Sweden, Australia, North Macedonia and Ireland are on today’s rehearsal schedule, so far; Lithuania and Russia were talked most because of their staging and song’s power. Russia has the most watched rehearsal video shared by Eurovision Song Contest channel on YouTube until now. We will be updating the news as the new rehearsal videos are shared.
